Choir perform at King's Lynn Corn Exchange

Organised by the Trinity Rotary Club of King's Lynn, 2017 marks the 20th anniversary of the annual School's Make Music event. On Tuesday 21st March our choir joined nine other schools to perform a concert of popular music - Springwood High, Lavender Hill Mob, St Michaels Academy, St Martha's Catholic Primary, Eastgate School, Fakenham Academy, Holly Meadows School, Runcton Holme Primary and Wormegay Primary.

Each school performed individually before coming together to perform 'I Have a Song to Sing' led by Downham Prep.

Our offering to the evening was a performance of Viva La Vida - Coldplay, Angels - Robbie Williams and a rousing performance of Bohemian Rhapsody. I accompanied the choir on piano ably assisted by Simon Shirm on guitar, which added that 'certain something' to the guitar solos in the Queen number!

All three numbers were really well received and the Bohemian Rhapsody led to huge cheers and applause from a packed Corn Exchange.

I feel it's tremendously important to be able to offer our children the opportunity to perform on a large professional stage to a large audience. The children performed superbly and I was so very proud of them all. I thoroughly enjoyed the evening as did the choir and I hope it was an evening they will never forget.
