Running Wild

On Thursday 27th April class 5 went to see a performance of Running Wild at the Theatre Royal, Norwich.

Class 5 have been studying the book, which was written by Michael Morpurgo. The story is based on a true story about a girl who was with her parents in Thailand when the Boxing Day Tsunami struck. She was riding an elephant along the beach. The elephant stampeded into the jungle and she survived, her parents died. The book tells of her time in the jungle living amongst the animals.

The animals were represented by life size puppets. The company of puppeteers was the same company who staged Warhorse, another Michael Morpurgo book.

The show was spectacular and really brought a deeper understanding to our book study.
