£850 raised for East Anglia's Children's Hospice

We're all very proud of our choristers. They have represented the whole school in numerous events recently, not least performing on stage at the King's Lynn Corn Exchange last Tuesday. Tuesday was a busy day for the choir as in the morning to Carol Plunkett, EACH Norfolk Fundraising Manager, who came into school to receive a cheque for £850 raised during the recent joint concert with St. Edmundsbury Male Voice Choir at St. Nicholas' Chapel, King's Lynn. Below is the press release.

St Edmundsbury Male Voice Choir  joined together with pupils of Downham Preparatory School and Montessori Nursery  to raise money for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).

The special concert took place at St Nicholas’ Chapel in King’s Lynn on Saturday 27 January and raised £850 for the charity.

Mark Jefferson is conductor of St Edmundsbury Male Voice Choir, one of the biggest in East Anglia with some 90 members, and also headmaster of Downham Prep School.

He explained “We are very proud of our School Choir for taking part in this wonderful concert. EACH has been our chosen charity for many years now and the children were thrilled to be joining friends at St. Edmundsbury Male Voice Choir for a great night of music making. “

Carol Plunkett, EACH Norfolk Fundraising Manager, said: “We’re delighted to be benefiting from this concert and would like to say a big thank you to Mark and everyone else involved in organising it. It was a fantastic evening and all money raised will help us to continue caring for children and young people with life-threatening conditions, and supporting their families.”
