Further Faster Greater

What an exciting start to the Summer Term! Our first day saw us hosting the new Magpas Air Ambulance on their first stop of their ‘Big Community Fly In’, which visited 4 locations thanked for their support in 4 hours!

The new air ambulance brings crucial lifesaving care by land and air to patients in life-threatening emergencies in the East of England and beyond. The new aircraft has state of the art software enabling it to fly further, faster and allow the lifesaving service to reach an even greater number of patients.

During the hour long stopover the school choir, joined by their friends, St. Edmundsbury Male Voice Choir, sang to the assembled crowds – including an impromptu concert to entertain our visitors, due to the helicopter being delayed. Every member of our school family were out on the field to witness the landing. The children were all given a tour of the new aircraft by the MAGPAS team. This gave the children a clear insight into the importance of their current fundraising activities. The school is raising money to purchase a community defibrillator for the village of Stow Bardolph located at the front of the school.

We would like to thank MAGPAS for choosing us as their first stopover, it was a tremendous experience. We like to think that our children share the new air ambulance philosophy of Further, Faster, Greater.
