Sporting Success

The school has enjoyed a great deal of sporting success this year. Both on an individual and team level the children have produced some excellent performances.

The school’s tag rugby team won the West Norfolk Tag Rugby Festival and qualified to play in the Norfolk county finals in which they finished 6th. The team played really well and were unlucky not to make it into the final four that played to win the title.

In the swimming gala the children came first and second in many of the events and won several of the relay races. Ella Pickles, Grace Seaton, Katie Drew and Harry Challen all qualified to swim in the West Norfolk finals and from there both Harry and Katie went on to swim in the Norfolk county finals.

The netball team have also had a successful year. They won the west Norfolk netball competition and have qualified to play in the Norfolk County Finals that will be held at the University of East Anglia in June.

The girls played really well in their matches against other independent schools and managed to beat the Glebe under eleven team for the first time.

Throughout the year the children have taken part in the Shouldham Cross country events. It has been nice to see many of the younger children taking part and enjoying these events. Holly Lawrence, in particular, has had a great deal of success having beaten the girls’ school record for the Shouldham course.

It is fantastic to see so many children enthusiastically taking part in sport. Many of them belong to our school clubs as well as out of school clubs, which has really enhanced their skills and helped them to achieve the excellent results that we have seen this year.
