Queen's Birthday Celebration

Last week the whole school, from babies to 11-year-olds, came together to celebrate the Queen's 90th birthday. The weather was perfect and the children sat outside to enjoy the party food.

So much food was donated by the parents that the children were still eating sausage rolls, cakes and cheese, for their morning snack, two days after the event.

At our school we have the tradition of celebrating all the major anniversaries of this country's history and those of the Royal Family. The most recent, before the Queen's birthday, was the celebration of VE Day last year. We held street parties and staged a show, which included a sing-a-long of all the most popular songs from the war years.
