Local author, Peter Basham, works with the children

As part of our book week, local author and illustrator, Peter Basham, came to the school and led watercolour workshops to our Year 4 to 6 pupils.

Building on the techniques the children had been introduced to in their weekly art lessons, Mr Basham demonstrated his style and the techniques he uses. The children were particularly inspired by Mr Basham's 'splashy wash' techniques.

Mr Balham's key message to our pupils was to keep imagining. In their future careers, whatever they choose, imagination will enable them to widen their thoughts and conceptual understanding.

We were grateful that Mr Basham was able to join us during our series of book themed events this week. We were inspired by his passion and creative thinking (especially his funny stories!)
