Norfolk Sportshall Athletics Final

On Friday 3rd March the children took part in the Norfolk County Sporthall Athletics Finals. The children previously qualified first in the West Norfolk Small Schools competition to get to this stage.

The children had a great day and produced some excellent performances to finish 5th in the county. In the boys competition both Harry Challen and Joseph Means ran really well to finish 2nd and 3rd in their relay races. All the boys worked hard to add to the teams overall points score.

The girls track events got off to a fantastic start with Hannah, Harriet, Cerys and Sophie achieving 3rd place in the obstacle race out of 8 schools in total.  Next was the 1+1 lap race which saw Cerys and Holly secure a solid 4th place. Martha and Holly then went on to achieve 2nd position in a fast 2+2 lap event.  The girls track was anchored by the 4x1 lap, with Martha, Hannah, Harriet and Sophie securing another 3rd place.  There were some strong competitors in the field events, however Holly and Martha performed particularly well in the speed bounce competition.  Other notable performances in the field include Cerys and Sophie in the javelin, Harriet in the vertical jump and Hannah in the triple jump.

The children had a fantastic day and enjoyed competing in a large arena, with plenty of spectators to cheer them on.

Judged by Ofsted to be OUTSTANDING in March 2009 and OUTSTANDING in ALL Areas in November 2014. See the full report on the Ofsted website.
