Nursery

The Nursery is situated in the Old Rectory building. It was fully refurbished in 2012. It is divided into work and play areas with sand trays, painting easels, a home corner, library and quiet room.

In 2006, after two years of rigorous screening the Nursery was awarded the prestigious Norfolk Quality Kitemark for Early Years Provision (which was re-awarded in 2008).

The Nursery also uses Primary facilities such as the computer room, art room and school hall with gym equipment. In the extensive garden there is a low-level jungle gym, slides, sand and water trays, with a range of sit-and-ride toys. The Nursery pupils plant seeds, bulbs and herbs in their own garden.

Nursery staff accompany children to other areas of the school grounds. They visit the pond and conservation wood, and take part in the upkeep of the animal corner, where goats, rabbits and guinea pigs are kept, in harmony with the idyllic rural setting.

The Nursery School at Stow Bardolph is exclusively for pupils who will be carrying on their education in our Primary School.

In September 2009, due to high demand, we opened our other nursery in nearby Downham Market for pupils who will be transferring to one of the many local state schools to continue their education.

Judged by Ofsted to be OUTSTANDING in March 2009 and OUTSTANDING in ALL Areas in November 2014. See the full report on the Ofsted website.
